Hello! I hope everything is going well in your day. Smile and take joy in knowing that God is with you today and you can talk to him about anything and everything. Reading the bible verse of the day is the best way to get your day started. Today’s bible verse is from Galations 5:13.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh, rather, serve one another humbly in love.
They’re so many treasures in bible verses. The more you read them and commit them to memory the more wisdom you will have and guidance you will be given. In your prayers ask God to open your eyes and heart that you will understand and share these bible verses boldly. Get a bible journal and write down what God is saying in the verses. This won’t take long I promise. Write down what the key meaning of the verse is or the key words that represent the verse your reading. This will help you to remember the bible verse and when you have more time go back and meditate on it and it’s meaning.
Bible Verse of the Day
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh, rather, serve one another humbly in love.
So in this verse Paul is speaking to the church in Galatia. He is telling them not to use their freedom as a opportunity to stray away from God’s instruction. Freedom in Christ means that we are free to serve God not our fleshy desire. The church at this time was beginning to look at works over faith. God has always given us a free will even from the beginning with Adam and Eve in Genesis 2: 16-17 ,God told Adam and Eve that they may eat freely of every tree of the garden except from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
It is so important not to abuse your free will because Adam and Eve used their free will to operate outside of the will of God. And because they did it brought about the consequence of death. There are always consequences when we choose to live outside of God’s will. We should not use God’s grace and mercy as a invitation to sin. Paul tells us to serve each other in love and not waste our freedom in Christ on our selfish needs and desires.
Galations 5-13
Live Life by the Spirit
Paul has spent most of this letter to the Galatians calling them to live in the freedom that comes with faith in Christ. With His own blood, Christ has purchased for those who trust Him a freedom from slavery to our sinfulness under the law. We are forgiven. We don’t need to toil under the harsh burdens of the law (Galatians 3:23–29). In his letter to the Romans, expanding on these same ideas, Paul put it this way: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). Bible Gateway
Bible Verses on The Holy Spirit
Genesis 1:2
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Romans 8:11
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Romans 8:14
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
1 Corinthians 2:11
For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John 15:26
“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.
John 16:7-15
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
These bible verses tell us to live life by the holy spirit not in the flesh. The gift of Jesus dying on the cross and purchasing us with his blood was not for us to fulfill our fleshy needs but to save us from them. This demonstration of love for us sinners is a supernatural freedom that can only come from God. As followers of Christ we should be making a purposeful effort to live in Christ daily. Are we perfect no, of course not, and our Father knows that. But our focus should be on Christ and not our own glory. We can never earn the gift of salvation in a million years. Our salvation is about what Jesus did for us out of is supernatural love and he wants us to share that love with our enemies and friends.
Thank God we don’t have to go on this journey alone. Jesus left all believers with a helper, the Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit will lead us and guide us in everything we do when we allow him. Reading the bible daily will open up your eyes and ears to the Holy Spirit. The more you read God’s word the more you will want to read. You will hear and see things differently in your life. God’s teachings will help you to be lead by the Holy Spirit. Living your life in the Spirit of God will bring you desirable treasures and happiness.
I am praying that your eyes are opened and your heart is set free. Live for the future not for today and tomorrow that is dying away as we speak. Take these daily bible verses and hide them in your heart. They are your prize possessions that will sustain you through eternity. God Bless and listen to our gift.
