The power and peace of Psalm 23….Recently I remembered  from my childhood repeating and memorizing,  Psalm 23 the Lord Is My Shepherd Prayer.  As I experience more in life I’m often drawn to this clear expression of who God is in my life.  I love this powerful psalm declaring God’s provision, love and protection over our lives.  Instead of worrying about my problems, my future, and my love ones,  I remembered through this prayer God’s got me and to stop WORRYING!!

Psalm 23 tells us that God has a love for us  that is eternal, that we are no longer jobless, that we are beautiful on the inside out outside, that food will be on the dinner table and in the cabinets. All we have to do is be still and worship him taking great peace in this truth.  Our security and protection is in him and him alone. He is the ultimate shepherd, victory has already been claimed. God will supply our every need, we will lack nothing.  All that we truly need is in God.  Psalm 23 will calm your soul, get you out of bed and on to your purpose. 

He will not only protect us and bring provision but also provide vindication before our enemies. (5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies) Not only is God going to give you victory provision over your enemies, your strong holds, even yourself , he’s going to give it to you in abundance. 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

² He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

³ He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

⁵ Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Commit this psalm to memory it will shepherd you through your worst storm. These are true promises of God that I have witnessed in my life many times. This is just one example out of millions as to why it’s life changing to read and study your bible. It’s one thing to be just happy in life but to live joyfully free and content in Christ is an eternal gift that can only come from God.
